Expect More Tehama is a movement powered by a broad range of community members committed to improving educational outcomes and opportunities in Tehama County. Rooted in the belief that real change begins with meaningful connection, we convene, collaborate, and co-create solutions that promote educational equity, economic prosperity, and long-term community growth.
Our work is guided by a simple but powerful question:

As we look toward the future, our focus at Expect More Tehama remains grounded in the belief that lasting change happens when we work together—with clarity, intention, and community at the center.
It starts with literacy.
We believe every child in Tehama County deserves the chance to read by third grade—and we know this milestone shapes everything that comes after. That’s why we’re investing in guiding teams, piloting early learning strategies, and building support systems that give every young learner a strong start.
It grows through hands-on learning.
We’re helping prepare students for high-demand careers by supporting youth apprenticeship opportunities, expanding career technical education (CTE), and mapping clear pathways into fields like healthcare, education, manufacturing, and construction. We don’t just ask what’s needed—we partner with schools, employers, and community leaders to build what’s next.
It thrives through connection.
We stay rooted in the community by creating spaces to reflect, align, and move forward together. From our annual Summit to regular meet-ups, storytelling, and shared reports, we keep the conversation going—and the momentum strong.
